A Day in My Life

My life is somehow boring, I waste most of my day working at school or at my house; but my day also has very good things that raise my mood up and motivates me to keep working as I am right now; I love Tuesdays to Firdays, but mostly the Thursdays.

As most of you know, I am currently at 10th grade in Colegio Americano de Torreon, this is considered the best school in Torreon, and I sometimes name it as my second home. I am currently arriving to school at 7:25, relaxed and happy, but my first class is Biology with Miss Rennie, believe me, I get dissapointed when the class starts because the teacher doesn't explains at all, she is very smart but her method of teaching is not the correct one for many of us. When the class has finished, I've got Programming class with Miss Pomar.

Next, the programming class is one of my favorites because I do really love wasting my time making programs; I am of the few people who are  really passionate of this class, also I am of the most advanced in this class. I always come in and ask if there are new programs, with a hope, but that's the dissadvantage of being advanced in the class, no programs available.

After that I've got History class with Mister Balata, I have a lot of fun in this class, we make jokes we can't make with girls in then class, and talk like "men to men", regarding that Mr. Balata has a good time with us, we also have fun and are ready to learn in a funny and NOT boring way.

When the third period is over, it's time for physical education, also the advantage in this class is that we are always only 10 men and could play freely in the class, but the best part is that most of the time, our activities are related to soccer, we freaking love to play soccer, and more when the winner team has a prize: they don't need to do a exam which is running for a long time.

Here is where things start to calm down, Spanish class. The classwork in this class is always in schoology and have a due date for every work, I think this class is the one which makes me have a good time as a civilized person, not as the other clases before, Mister Alonso gets along with us, but Thursday we need to read some articles in a web page called Achive 3000, answer a quiz, do a pre-reading and after reading survey, and a essay for each one. I only plug in my earphones and start to work.

Now, my lunch starts, mostly I either go to eat something or pass the entire time at the library taking advantage of the time to start making the work due for other days, this time helps me alot so I don't take home most of the homework and don't worry alot for it. A great factor is if my wild friends appear and divert my innocent intention to work.

Finally, but not the last, it's the Green Bay fan time! Mr. Muskett's class is one of my favorite because of just one simple reason, I freakingly love math, I always finish his assignments in his class and start to see the "short video presentations in his class", regarding they last almost two times the lord of the rings movies but I do enjoy looking at them.

Now literally, it's time for our final class, English class, or how my class almost nick-named it, "the class where you scream, jump, and put at all any attention", they will have a different name for this class in some time, but by far, this name will stay. I am a quiet guy sitting on the front ready to learn, I do laugh of their jokes and everything but I really don't make that often jokes,

When school is over, I enter to a meditation zone called "Music class", they are more less music class, but in all Thursdays, I've got at 3:30 the Jazz group rehearsal, then I have almost 30 minutes to go to the OXXO to buy any type of food to eat. When I've got my snack, I enter to piano class, so far I have liked it and I think I will continue in it.

More less this is my day, regarding I still need to get home, take a bath, have dinner if I'm hungry, and start doing homework (the most boring and frustrating part of my day), but I have of motivation the goal to become some day a pilot and I need to mantain my high standars (grades) and continue putting all the effort together to accomplish excellence for life.

First Day in College

Omar and his family were in their way to Dallas, they were taking a connection flight between Torreon and Daytona Beach. It was the time for Omar to accomplish his dream, he was in his way to become a pilot.

Everyone was so happy first than all because obviously he was going to his new home to make his dream true, it was Omar's birthday, and he graduated with honors from Colegio Americano de Torreon, tanks to the last event, Omar got a 45 scholarship for all the length of his studies; at this point the most happy was his father.

Next they arrived to Dallas at 07:00 a.m. The only thing to make was to check-in again, and wait for their flight to arrive. The terminal was so empty that if you farted, the few people there would hear it and even smell it. The day was so cloudy but never started to rain, until fog started to cover up the runways, they couldn't distinguish between the airport service cars and the taxi lights of the airplanes.

Although it was very foggy, airplanes continued to land, no matter what was the situation of visibility, the captains had a lot of skill and courage to decide attempt a landing with no visibility. Thirthy minutes after the estimated arrival of their flight, a lady announced "Ladies and gentlemen, flight AA5317 which departed from Los Angeles LAX to Dallas Fort-Worth has dissapeared from the radar, passengers of flight AA5318 please stand by for further information." The family was just in shock.

After, the whole passengers of flight AA5318 asked to the airport guidance people what happened to their flight, they responded that they have still no information. When Omar turned around, he saw a group of people gathered in a window, he didn't had a clue of why more than fifty people were looking through the same window at the same time, so as many of the other passengers would make, he approached to the window. When Omar looked out, he saw 3 United States Air Force C-130H airplanes, and 5 Bell-407 helicopters, he had never saw in his life a big group of this metal birds departing from the same place at the same time, but more weirdly, they were heading to the same location.

Further that event, the American Airlines crew announced to the passengers that a new airplane would be assigned so they could take their flight, but when they were in line to enter the new airplane, all the televisions changed to a emergency report. All the line was looking to the TV's, the first thing they saw was a crash site, but more clearly a tail of an airplane with an American Airlines logo. They couldn't believe that that was the plane they were going to use.

Finally, they entered the plane and departed to Daytona Beach, the mood of everyone changed to a very sad one. When Omar arrived to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, he started to doubt if he wanted to be a pilot, he didn't wanted to end as the people he had just saw a few hours ago; but he refused in starting to think that kind of things, he entered the school as if he lived there already and felt very confident of himself. Now Omar flies the Airbus A380-861 in Dubai, currently at the Emirates Airline; he has a daugther, a son, and a beautiful wife, and an enormous house, everything he ever wanted in one place, a beautiful place.

My Brother is Born!

I still clearly remember this day as if it was yesterday. It's the 7th of November at night, I couldn't believe that I will finally have a little brother at my house which I can play with and have fun because at that time, I didn't had much friends and I only hang out with my cousins to play videogames or to the cinema. I have been praying God many times so he would gave me the opportunity to have a brother and take care of him; by that time I thought that God dropped a little seed from which the babies grow, until I had science class in school.

That night I was very excited, I was talking with my mother, asking her how a baby looks like (I had no idea how a baby looks like because I was the youngest on my whole family), so she showed me pictures of the moment I was born; I had never saw a picture of me when I had less than half an hour from my birth time. We kept talking, until I remembered a movie I saw in which a lady gave birth to a baby, and she died; I became very nervous and asked my mom what where the risks of having a baby, but to keep me calm, she answered "any". So I calmed down and went to sleep because I needed to wake up at 6 a.m. to get ready to go to the hospital.

When I woke up, my mother was looking again at the pictures from when I was born, and speaking out loud she said "I can't believe I'm having another one, this is a blessing", I also thought it was a blessing, more than ace any exam. I had breakfast and pack up many things to play while we were there. The time had arrived and we needed to leave, I carried my mothers’ bags into the car and we looked into the sky, it was a beautiful morning, the birds flying in the sky, sunrays shinning in the morning, and a cold breeze in the air. I forgot about my father, I think he was the most excited from the three of us, since he woke up he had a clear big smile in his face, he checked everything so we don't leave anything behind, and he told me that a surprise might be waiting, clearly I thought my brother was the surprise.

We finally departed to the hospital and checked in, almost all my family was already at the hospital waiting for us. The hospital seemed so scary with the lights turned off and all empty. When we arrived to the bedroom, we got the incorrect one, this one was very small and the one we ordered had a TV room for the visitors. But before we got changed of bedroom, the time had come and my mother was taken to the surgery. I was with my father, cousins, uncles, aunts, with my grandfather and grandmother in the hospital waiting area, it didn't passed more than an hour until my medic came with us and told us if we wanted to move to the baby room with had a showcase, because my brother had born.

We rushed to the showcase, and we didn't saw any baby until a lady came in with what it seemed a blanket in between her arms, she slowly and gently put it down in a little bed and we saw a little baby, we had the doubt if that baby was our new family integer, but he didn't had a tag until that same lady posted a paper in the bed which told "Adrian De La Garza Iga, 8-Nov-07", we jumped gracefully and shouted, etc. I stared at him almost half an hour, I was full of happiness, and I couldn't believe that my dream had finally come true, but now I needed to take care of him as a good big brother must do.

After almost an hour, we were told that my mother is now in the bedroom, but we needed to be quiet because she was recovering from the surgery. Everyone went to the room to congratulate my mother, friends and familiars came together in joy, but also my brother because he was took to my mother and father for a small period of time, but also to me, I had the opportunity to carry him in my arms and kiss him. When almost everyone leaved the room, my father came in with a green gift bag, he told me that the doctors gave it to him because it came with the baby, he told me that God send it to me to congratulate me (now I could figure out that he buy it to me); it was the only game I wanted at that time for my Nintendo DS and I still have it, I think so.

Less than a week went by and we could finally go to our house with another person in our family. We were so happy together, all the family came together again, and we made a grilled beef and had a great time together because family from around Mexico came with us.

He might make me angry most of the times, or make me laugh, but I love him over everything and I would give my life and everything for him. Today is November the 7th, tomorrow is his birthday, exactly one year from everything was ending, but it was just the beginning. I hope someday I would live this event again, but not as a new brother neither as a nephew, but as a son.
